Original lyrics
ENpoor woman the people exclaimed
when julia pastrana was first shown
they marveled and pitied her fate
covered with dark hair from top to toe
but she was of exceptional mind
and a suitor soon asked for her hand
she accepted the proposal in kind
despite the misgivings of good friends
she said he loves me for my own sake
they were married and traveled the states
and soon they were blessed with a child
but he suffered his poor mother's fate
and lived but only a short while
and poor julia was injured inside
and soon followed her son to the grave
her husband had them mummified
and toured until he went insane
she said he loves me for my own sake
