Summertime lyrics

It was late one night, I lost my lucky charm And I fell off my bike and I broke my arm I ripped my jeans but I met a girl And we kissed behind the school It was down by the lake of this haunted house And we freaked this guy with a rubber mouse That was living, it was so damn cool The battle hymn of Scarborough It happened last summer, summertime It happened last summer, summertime Well the cops come 'round, nearly every day But we climbed a tree till they went away I had to hide my hickey with a turtleneck I drank a can of beer Well the seasons changed and it passed me by But I'll never forget the look in your eye That was living, it was so damn cool The battle hymn of Scarborough It happened last summer, summertime It happened last summer, summertime Sun beating down, it makes me smile Sand stuck between my toes Birds singing on a picket white fence Drinking water from a hose It happened last summer, summertime It happened last summer, summertime It happened last summer, summertime It happened last summer, summertime
