Original lyrics
ENLike a Texas wind that blows in springtime
In the morning sun I feel it grow
The ever restless spirit of the Lord
Moving through my soul
Calling me to go the distance
Where love demands a higher price
Fields of white are burning for the harvest
On the second mile
Far away
To new frontiers and places
Where we've never dared before
Someone is cryin'
Someone is dyin'
Somewhere down the road
Where I have yet to go
I stand upon a lonely hillside
I close my eyes and Lord, I see
Every extra step of love
You took to rescue me
And I ride upon Your strength and courage
For every step of faith I need
To reach a world that's waiting for love
On the second mile
Far across
The borders of a nation
Or to a neighbor next door
Someone is cryin'
Someone is dyin'
Somewhere down the road
Where I have yet to go
Somewhere down the road
On the second mile
Far away
To new frontiers and places
Where we've never dared before
Someone is cryin'
Someone is dyin'
Somewhere down the road
Where I have yet to go
Like a Texas wind that blows in springtime
In the morning sun I feel it grow
The ever restless spirit of the Lord
Call it be the second mile
