Songtext von Pocket Full Of Matches

Found a matchbook in my coat From a place I can't recall Your name was written in the fold Like a map on a bathroom wall The taxi spilled a bag of pears Onto cracked apartment stone I kept one in my pocket there Just to feel less on my own And I don't know why But I keep it close Little flame in my palm When the whole room froze Pocket full of matches Pocket full of matches One spark and I remember Who I was before the weather Pocket full of matches Pocket full of matches If I lose my way tonight I'll light it up and find the line The laundromat was closing fast Socks swinging on the wire A kid was tracing constellations In the fog above the dryer I heard a train behind the blocks Then silence in the hall Some things are small enough to hold Still carry most of all And I don't know why But I keep it close Little flame in my palm When the whole room froze Pocket full of matches Pocket full of matches One spark and I remember Who I was before the weather Pocket full of matches Pocket full of matches If I lose my way tonight I'll light it up and find the line Maybe that's all we are A little light in a bruise
