Songtext von Devil's Thumbprint

Texas night lovely señorita Wanderin' by caught my eye And as we danced I knew I'd never let her go The stars looked down flashin' out a warning: Man beware I didn't care Lost somewhere 'tween midnight and the morning glow Her hair was black as ebony Her skin was soft and white Her perfume filled my head with dreams My heart beat like a tambourine She whispered low something in Spanish And flashed those green eyes The moonlight and tequila blinded me to her disguise Her lips like wine brushed against mine And as she lured me in I should've seen the devil's thumbprint plain as sin Morning light through the tattered curtains Hotel room, clock says noon I rubbed my head and feel a burning in my brain She stole my watch, stole a hundred dollars Left me flat, but worse than that She took my heart And didn't even leave her name Well I guess she made a fool of me I bet I'm not the first My head tells me its over now But my heart can't help rememberin' how She whispered low something in Spanish And flashed those green eyes The moonlight and tequila blinded me to her disguise Her lips like wine brushed against mine And as she lured me in I should've seen the devil's thumbprint plain as sin Her hair was black as ebony Her skin was soft and white Her perfume filled my head with dreams My heart beat like a tambourine She whispered low something in Spanish And flashed those green eyes The moonlight and tequila blinded me to her disguise Her lips like wine brushed against mine And as she lured me in I should've seen the devil's thumbprint plain as sin Yeah I should've seen the devil's thumbprint plain as sin
