Songtext von It's The Check's You Write

Taking ideas from notes you've read Of where I wanna go You told me once there was nothing better Than the view from Cupid's bow Knowing that he's aiming at the heart you've been claiming You held me captive and dreamed of being captivated It's the check's you write That I know I can't cash It's my favorite kiss I ain't ever getting back It's the longest night That I'm gonna live through And time's on my side And we'll forget about you We'll forget about you Told me once there was a great payoff in taking something slow I met you halfway between our hearts and you never even showed Oh, I been waiting all this time I've been a'waiting And nothing's changing All this time I've been a'waiting It's the check's you write That I know I can't cash It's my favorite kiss I ain't ever getting back It's the longest night That I'm gonna live through And time's on my side And we'll forget about you We'll forget about you Oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh Ah oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh Ah oh oh oh Oh, standing next to her Someone I used to know I hung out my hand I opened up my heart All the words you said Are ringing in my head Cuz they're the check's you write That I know I can't cash It's the favorite kiss I ain't ever getting back It's the longest night That I'm gonna live through And time's on my side Time's on my side Time's on my side We'll forget about you We'll forget about you
