Songtext von Passing of the Night

An eagle down They clipped his wings Could not evade Never did I think that I would fall In all that time I never thought To face this fate At least I had the chance to say goodbye As they shackled my hands And blindfold me on Spit on me and call me names unknown All that I want Is to make it home some day To return with honor when the night is gone Passing of the night On the horizon Soaring on my flight Passing of the night The sun is rising Soaring on my flight My soul now rising The days that go The years that come Yet I live on I hope I have the strength to see it through They tear my flesh and crush my bones To starve my heart The rampant music rips my mind in two This 3 by 6 foot cell I'm down on my knees I lift my voice in prayer up to my god Hearken unto me Cast me not away Send your angels, lord To set me free Passing of the night On the horizon Soaring on my flight Passing of the night The sun is rising Soaring on my flight My soul now rising (Chorus)
