Songtext von Bandages of Eternity

In the shadows of his former throne A noble heart turned cold as stone Greed whispered, led him to the flame Sold his soul, called out a demon's name Brothers betrayed, poison in the wine Beauty faded in the curse divine The demon laughed with blood-stained lips Immortal now, but forever in eclipse Bandages of eternity, wrapped in endless pain Walking through the centuries, drowned in pouring rain No touch, no love, no mercy's light A monster in the mirror, lost in endless night But the fire still burns, deep inside! Villages burned, they drove him away White linen hiding the face of decay Fingers twisted, skin forever torn Watching his children die while he lived on Alone he wandered, a ghost in disguise Through centuries of silence and tearless eyes Bandages of eternity, wrapped in endless pain Walking through the centuries, drowned in pouring rain No touch, no love, no mercy's light A monster in the mirror, lost in endless night But the fire still burns, deep inside! Crushed beneath the chapel stone Years turned to dust, he was not alone Trapped in darkness, soul stripped bare Confessing sins in silent prayer Until a hand broke through the stone A stranger's voice cut through the black Pulled him out, no fear on his back Take my cloak, I'll walk with you First kind words in a thousand years, so true Bandages of eternity, beginning to unwind A spark of hope has pierced the night, redemption's light now shines No longer alone in this cruel design Two broken souls walk side by side The monster found a friend The curse begins to bend In the fire we rise again!
