Songtext von Almost Home

Loaded up the car and said goodbye Looked at that old school one last time No more homework and tears And I'll miss the friends that I made here Chorus: But I'm almost home, where they meet you with a smile and open arms I'm almost home, where you never see a stranger and folks know who you are I'm almost home, where I'll be welcomed like a star I've been waiting for the day and I've been dreaming of your face and I'm almost home Went to serve his country far away In a land where all the skies were grey Letters froze the pain in time Late at night he wrote while he cried I'm almost home, where they meet you with a smile and open arms I'm almost home, where you never see a stranger and folks know who you are I'm almost home, where I'll be welcomed like a star I'll be waiting for the day and I'll be dreaming of your face and Im almost home She saw her father in the room She said her time was coming soon I couldn't see him anywhere But I knew she saw him standing there She was smiling up at me She put her hand on my knee Took a breath and closed her eyes She was singing while I cried I'm almost home, where my Savior waits with open arms I'm almost home, where I'll never meet a stranger and loved ones never part I'm almost home, where I'll be welcomed like a star I've been waiting for the day and I've been dreaming of your face and Im almost home
