Songtext von Blessed Evening

As this blessed evening falls Turn your back against the wall And protect your hands and face As you shield yourself from slings and arrows Keep your eye upon the sparrow As this blessed evening falls Moonlight over Montreal Don't try to resist arrest 'Cos they'll smack you down before they cuff you Plant some drugs then try to snuff you And the South will rise again And we'll be in bed by ten But just don't assume that you're my friend And we'll shoot until there's sparks colliding As this blessed evening falls Don't forget the alcohol I can smell it on your breath With a message from your undertaker Stuffed in a martini shaker As this blessed evening falls Turn your back against the wall And protect your hands and face As you shield yourself from slings and arrows Keep your eye upon the sparrow And the South will rise again And we'll be in bed by ten But just don't assume that you're my friend And we'll shoot until there's sparks colliding When this blessed evening falls As this blessed evening falls
