Songtext von Not As a Sweetheart (but Just As a Friend)

Please don't hang up on me honey I've just called to say That I'm leavin' and I won't be back again And asked you if you'd see me and be with me one more time Not as a sweetheart but just as a friend Not as a sweetheart for I know your love is gone for me But just for old time sake leave me a memory do this for me And please would you take my hand just kiss me one more time Not as a sweetheart but just as a friend Well thanks darlin' anyway no you can't break your date And plans can't wait and broken hearts can't mend So bye bye now you be a sweet girl and honey think of me sometimes Not as a sweetheart but just as a friend Not as a sweetheart for I know your love is gone for me But for the sake of my aching heart say something sweet to me for I used to be Your one and only and it hurts to see it end Not as a sweetheart but just as your friend Not as a sweetheart but just as your friend
