Songtext von House of the Setting Sun

Papa was a wise man Said listen to me son This world's out to get you When they come you've gotta run From the pagan things of Korah Cause after all there is a judge So be a man of heaven Or judgments sure to come Said listen to me son I'm going down, down, down, down To New Orleans I'm going down, down, down, down To the land of sin I've had too many drinks now Empty bottles on the floor Everything is hazy Devil's knocking at my door I'm choking on the silence Waiting for a sign That all can be undone now My soul be sanctified I'm going down, down, down, down To New Orleans I'm going down, down, down, down To the land of sin Going down, down, down, down No turning back I'm going down, down, down, down Way down This road is getting steeper The waters running dry My fate is set before me I guess this is my time Father please forgive me And Mama don't you cry I tried to use my own strenght but Salvations been denied I'm going down, down, down, down To New Orleans I'm going down, down, down, down To the land of sin Going down, down, down, down No turning back I'm going down, down, down, down
