Songtext von My Heroes Have Always Been Highways

My heroes have always been highways and that's why I'm gone all the time Route 60 ran by my house as a kid and Lord how I loved the white lines I know there's a warm place beside you and the kids ask about me sometimes But my heroes have always been highways I got a lowdown highway in mind Well I missed all the PTA meetin's I guess I'm not a PTA man I've got a black coffee outlook and I dream with a wheel in my hand Thought I wish there was a way I could change in anything that I do or I did But my heroes have always been highways and they have been since I was a kid [ ac.guitar ] And I love you the way that I love you not the way that another man would I know that I live by a roadmap but all I wanna be great and I wanna be good I guess I'm a port low on something that makes for a home loving kind But my heroes have always been highways I got a lowdown highway in mind My heroes have always been highways I got a lowdown highway in mind
