St. James Infirmary lyrics

Well it was down in Big Kid's barroom a corner beyond the square Everybody drinking liquor the regular crowd was there I walked on out to the corner begin looking around Looking for my baby but my baby couldn't found I walked passed St James Infirmary and I heard my baby moan Stretched out on a long white table laying there so white so prone Mhm stretched out on a long white table laying there so white so prone [ ac.guitar ] Went on out to see the doctor your gal is low he said I went back in to see my baby good Lord she was layin there dead Sixteen coal black horses all hitched up in a line And in that pretty buggy she's a ridin' goodbye old gal of mine Went on back to the barroom to get me a drink of booze And that's where you'll find me cryin' and singin' the drunker's blues Mhm that's where you'll find me cryin' and singin' the drunker's blues
