A New Beginning lyrics

The world was drowning in its own dark ways Shadows falling on the human days But there was one man walking in the light Pure and blameless in the Maker's sight God said: Noah, build an ark of wood To save the righteous and the pure and good Families gathered, tools in their hands A floating sanctuary, safe from the land With every plank, with every nail Faithful to God, not just for the trial So let the rain fall down, let the fountains rise We are safe inside beneath the stormy skies Though the earth may shake and the oceans roar The Lord is the One who shut the door We're riding the waves of a brand new birth Above the wreckage of a broken earth Days turned into weeks, then months passed by Inside the ark, the world's last few sighs Noah watched as the waters rose But his faith never wavered, no matter the cost They laughed at the hammer, they laughed at the sky For the ground was dusty and the air was dry But faith doesn't wait for the rain to fall It stands on the promise and obeys the call So let the rain fall down, let the fountains rise We are safe inside beneath the stormy skies Though the earth may shake and the oceans roar The Lord is the One who shut the door We're riding the waves of a brand new birth Above the wreckage of a broken earth So let the rain fall down, let the fountains rise We are safe inside beneath the stormy skies Though the earth may shake and the oceans roar The Lord is the One who shut the door We're riding the waves of a brand new birth Above the wreckage of a broken earth
