The Sandman lyrics

In a quiet forge where the hammers sing Lives a gentle man with a hidden strength within Olaf the blacksmith, calm and kind Mends broken plows and calms the troubled mind Beneath his simple shirt, muscles forged in flame Trained by the old ways of the Rock and Forge Clans' name Son of stars and mountains, blood of ancient line But peace is the power that guides his quiet life Oh, the Sandman, with eyes so serene True power lies in the strength you don't need When darkness comes riding down from the hills He'll stand like a mountain, unbreakable will No rage in his heart, just a warning so still Don't push the man who chooses not to kill One fateful night when the bandits came Corrupted by demons, screaming hatred and flame Axes and knives, a wolf-man leading the fray The village trembled as they tore through the way They found Olaf walking, peaceful and alone A giant swung hard, but Olaf held bone to bone Twisted the wrist, threw him high in the air Revealed the ochre scales no one knew were there Oh, the Sandman, with eyes so serene True power lies in the strength you don't need When darkness comes riding down from the hills He'll stand like a mountain, unbreakable will No rage in his heart, just a warning so still Don't push the man who chooses not to kill A mace flew at his head, he blocked with his arm Sand rose like pillars, disarming their harm You can leave now, he spoke without hate But the leader transformed, filled with demonic rage Walls of the desert answered Olaf's call Crushed the beast between them, one and all The bandits fled screaming into the night Never to return to the village's light Now the tale is told by the fire's warm glow Of the blacksmith who fought but never stole a soul He learned to be mighty so he'd never have to prove That real honor lives in the path you choose So if you seek trouble in the shadows deep Remember the legend that the elders keep Never confront the Sandman, my friend Or peaceful sleep may reach its end Oh, the Sandman, with eyes so serene True power lies in the strength you don't need! He walks with the forge and the ancient stone Guardian of peace, forever alone Let the story echo through the ages still Respect the quiet man upon the hill Olaf the blacksmith, the Sandman Peace through power, in his gentle hands
