Original lyrics
ENMy hillbilly baby the sweetest gal in town
You can bet I'll see her when the sun goes down
Someday I will marry her I hope I'm not too late
But until she's older oh I guess I'll have to wait
Well I know I'm mighty lucky a country boy like me
If I make her happy happy I will be
So until the wedding day I hope the time's not far away
I'll be waiting my hillbilly baby
[ guitar ]
Now I've heard song about the valleys and the mountain shacks
Songs about most every moon I know
But I'd rather sing the songs bout that gal of mine
She's the cutest little girl I know
My hillbilly baby...
I'll be waiting my hillbilly baby
