Original lyrics
ENI just saw a bluebird fly over
And I could swear he looked straight down at me
But I suppose he thought I was a brother
And no wonder I'm as blue as any bluebird could be
I never thought bluebirds got up so early
The sun's not up yet it's just breaking dawn
I guess like me you been too busy weeping
All sleeping and I just heard you sing the saddest song
Hey brother bluebird what are we gonna do
We two of a kind both out of our minds
From the hurt we're goin' through
Would you trade your wings do anything to have her
Cause you love her well brother bluebird you got company
Hey wait for me oh brother bluebird you got company
