Testo di The cicada and the ant

Down in the meadow on a sunny summer day The cicada sang while the ants worked away Strummin' her fiddle, dancin' in the light Singin' sweet songs from mornin' till night Oh come join the fun, life's too short to toil! But the ants kept haulin', stackin' grain in their soil And the ant insists on saying so! (Oh, yeah, keep on workin', keep on workin'!) The lazy days faded, the cool winds would blow Winter came creepin', bringin' ice and snow Hey cicada, cicada, singin' all summer long! (Sing it loud, sing it strong!) While the ant built her house, sturdy and true Now winter's here knockin', what you gonna do? Oh cicada, cicada, dancin' in the Sun! (Fun's all done, fun's all done!) The ant's got her pantry full to the brim While you're shiverin' cold, wishin' you had worked like him! The cicada knocked softly on the ant's cozy door Dear friend, I'm freezin', can't take anymore Lend me a crumb, just a little to eat? The ant looked out and said, Ain't that neat? You sang and you played while we gathered our store Now dance through the winter like you did before! And the ant insists on saying so! (Work hard, play smart, that's the score!) The cicada hung her head, learned the lesson so clear Preparation matters when the cold draws near Hey cicada, cicada, singin' all summer long! Now listen up, y'all, this tale's got a beat Balance your fun with a little hard feat Sing when it's sunny, but save for the rain 'Cause winter comes callin', again and again! (Yeah, yeah, balance it right!) Hey cicada, cicada, learn from the past! (Work and play, make it last!) Sing your heart out, but stash some away So when winter hits, you'll smile every day! Oh ant and cicada, together they show Live life with rhythm, let the good times flow! (Oh, yeah, let the good times flow!) Yeah, cicada and ant, what a story to tell Work hard, play hard, and all will be well! (All will be well! Yeah!) Yee-haw!
