Testo di Venus

I followed Him from the day I was born I believed every word Every command Every promise of glory When He asked for an army, I built one When He asked for silence, I obeyed And when He asked for worship I gave everything even what I shouldn't have But one day I asked Why is He the only one who can create? And the universe went quiet The fire didn't come from below It came from above It burned me from the inside before I fell And I fell knowing It wasn't rebellion It was too much doubt For a place that doesn't accept questions My brothers turned their faces away Not from hate from fear No one wants to be next I still remember the light Hitting my wings as they were torn apart Down below, the abyss called me king But king of what? Of ruins? Of regret? Of voices screaming my name Without knowing what they ask for? The fire didn't come from below It came from above It burned me from the inside before I fell And I fell knowing It wasn't rebellion It was too much doubt For a place that doesn't accept questions I loved Him I still do But love that cannot speak Turns into hatred And hatred became all I am The fire didn't come from below It came from above
