Just a few hours after the sunrise,
On the resurrection day,
Two men from emmaus walked and talked along their way;
When all of a sudden from out of nowhere,
Came a one that seemed to be so wise;
Unbeknownst to either,
They were talking with the christ.
On the road to emmaus they met Jesus,
And he came and spoke to them;
He opened the scripture,
So their eyes could plainly see;
That he was the only god, jehovah,
Conquering death at calvary;
On the road to emmaus where they met Jesus,
Grant that I may walk with thee.
O, that I could have the chance like they did,
Just to hear the savior teach
From out of the scriptures,
From beginning to the end;
But I have the spirit living within me,
And he teaches me the word;
Oh, how sweet it is to know,
That I have fellowship with him.
On the road to emmaus they met Jesus,
And he came and spoke to them;
He opened the scripture,
So their eyes could plainly see;
That he was the only god, jehovah,
Conquering death at calvary;
On the road to emmaus where they met Jesus,
Grant that I may walk with thee.
On the road to emmaus they met Jesus,
And he came and spoke to them;
He opened the scripture,
So their eyes could plainly see;
That he was the only god, jehovah,
Conquering death at calvary;
On the road to emmaus where they met Jesus,
Grant that I may walk with thee.
Walkin' and talkin' on the road to emmaus,
Walkin' and talkin' on the road to emmaus,
Walkin' and talkin' on the road to emmaus,
Walkin' and talkin' on the road to emmaus,
