Thought Gettin' Older 歌詞

I thought gettin’ older would take a lot longer than it did It seems like the day before yesterday I was just a little snotty-nosed kid And that shock of hair that I had back there went away and hid, yeah it did But, I thought gettin’ older would take a lot longer than it did Well, I’d have thought for sure Jesus would have come back by now I still believe some day I’ll see Him riding that big white horse through the clouds I believe it even more right now than I did when I was a kid Still, I thought gettin’ older would take a lot longer than it did (They thought gettin’ older would take a lot longer than it did) And I hope I have a few more years before they close that lid Ah, come on, Larry, we’ve had more fun already than I’d really like to admit Still, I thought gettin’ older would take a lot longer (He thought gettin’ older would take a lot longer) Still, I thought gettin’ older would take a lot longer than it did Oh, come on, Kevin, show us your stuff I’d have thought by now I’d have more money than I do, like you Oh, but God knows best, we’ve all been blessed (With more than enough to see us through) And I wouldn’t trade places with anyone else, heaven and God forbid Still, I thought gettin’ older would take a lot longer than it did Now, this simple song is just two minutes long Come on, Larry, who we trying to kid But it sure seems like it took a lot longer than it did (thank the Lord)
