My memory's little hazy, of course. Yeah this mule would just line up with all of the finest and take out a running at the sounding of the gun but in the final turn the mule would start to burn and though them quarterhorses was steady making pretty good time, The Mule was first to cross the line every time. He was the Miracle Mule, in a quarterhorse duel, And only a fool would bet upon a Miracle Mule. So one day his rider whispered in his ear, "Mule, the end of your career is drawing near, you lost a step, your time is spent," But the mule was offended and he said, "Now why should I retire?... I'm just now catching on fire!"
