Checkin' Up My Baby lyrics

I'm checkin' up my baby Find out what she puttin`do I'm checkin' up my baby Trying to find out what she puttin down So many nights and days You know I have been out of town I'm afraid to write a letter I wouldn't even make no telephone call I'm afraid to write a letter I didn't make no telephone call Cause I didn't want my baby to know I was back in town at all Wouldn't even call nobody I wouldn't even be seen I didn't talk to nobody And I didn't want to be seen I want to sleep off my pity as a midnight dream Checkin', checkin' up on my baby Tryin' to find out what she puttin' down Checkin' up on my baby Trying find out what she puttin' down Because I been a longtime Since I been back in town
