You Came Softly lyrics

I had known Your love, for a long, long time Lived only by Your words, memorized each line But I never knew all Your loving grace Something that no words could ever replace You came softly, hardly the way That I had thought it would be You gave Yourself so lovingly, now I know That heaven is more than pearly gates And golden streets so high above 'Cause I found heaven in Your sweet love All too many times I lived selfishly Not really seeing what my heart should see Then Your Word became like a living light Guiding me safely through the darkest night You came softly, hardly the way That I had thought it would be You gave Yourself so lovingly, now I know That heaven is more than pearly gates And golden streets so high above 'Cause I found heaven in You I found peace With Your love Worries cease With Your love I've got everything I need You came softly, hardly the way That I had thought it would be You gave Yourself so lovingly, now I know That heaven is more than pearly gates And golden streets so high above 'Cause I found heaven in Your sweet love
