Palm Tree lyrics

Well why won't you dance with me The night is free And my hands... are aching? Why won't you hold me. Like the stars I see are holding the sky? (Chorus) Well I'll be hanging in the trees Of these dusty old palm tree If you're wondering after me That's where I'll be In this dusty old palm tree Well why won't you sing to me Sing me a melody So sweet... that it makes my heart bleed? Well why won't you cradle me, Rock me endlessly like the waves rock the sea? (Chorus) Well I'll be hanging in the trees Of these dusty old palm tree If you're wondering after me That's where I'll be In this dusty old palm tree Well why don't you run to me, Cross this empty beach... scrape the sand with your feet, And lean up against this tree, Where I'm swinging in the breeze, just out of reach (Chorus) Well I'll be hanging in the trees Of these dusty old palm tree If you're wondering after me That's where I'll be In this dusty old palm tree
