How Strange The Silence lyrics

How strange the silence Deep and timeless It lays heavy in the night time air All those voices Lost and waiting Echo through a windless night Words found wanting Words forgotten I treated my own words like slaves O, silence How strange the silence When all is gone and taken away Speak from the heart Let the soul out Or bind your tongue and speak not at all O, fire Sacred fire Your warmth is lost on these old bones So it all went And passed us by Those days are gone, oh so long gone O, silence How strange the silence When all is gone and taken away
