Original lyrics
ENThrough a winding staircase
which sinks
one emerges into a cell
beyond the cell
is a heavy oak door
formerly locked
which opens to another passageway
leading to the safety
of a mountain
The purposes
of this passageway were
protection of
the castle's water supply
a place of refuge
a place of torture and detention
and finally
and finally
a secret means of escape
a secret means of escape
