I rose to cross the room
To step up to the window
To look out of the window
I rose up from my chair
To reach the window
But, I saw
I glanced
Behind me and
I saw, like blood,
Like a stain
Before I knew,
Like wine, dark
Like a pool,
Spilled on the floor
My shadow red
Stretched out behind
Me
Red
Why is my shadow red
Why is my shadow red
