She Let Go Of Her Kite 歌词

Just as she patched it up It came unravelled A crash collapse into the trees A mess of garden twine and red fabric Tangled up good in the leaves She's getting tired of fixing the frame Nothing's made to last She let go of her kite It was as easy as switching off the light She watched it as it flew It felt like the right thing It starts out so enchanting You just can't live without it A shiny present in its wrapping You can picture yourself and how it happens And the newness wears thin Nothing's made to last She let go of her kite It was as easy as switching off the light She watched it as it flew It felt like the right thing They got it together in November A stormy wind ripped her coat A running start and they were sailing It was easy until the tether broke You start over and nothing's made to last She let go of her kite It was as easy as switching off the light She watched it as it flew It felt like the right thing For a few minutes she didn't move Just stood still and watched the air float through The reel empty in her hands Here's hoping it never has to land It moved out of view And nothing's made to last She let go of her kite It was as easy as switching off the light She watched it as it flew It felt like the right thing She let go of her kite It was as easy as switching off the light She watched it as it flew It felt like the right thing The right thing to do
