Verse 1:
There are thorns in my flesh,
I can't seem to overcome,
and these thorns in my flesh,
just keep on hindering me.
Lord, I really want to be
everything You want me to be,
so I'm begging You, Lord,
please remove these thorns.
Verse 2:
Lord I took, I took Your words
and I hid it, I hid it in my heart
so I could live as You commanded.
And this world won't tear it apart,
You said every promise You would keep,
if I would lay all of my sins,
if I would lay them at Your feet;
so I'm begging You Lord,
pease remove these thorns.
Chorus 1:
Take them away, (so I can live holy),
take them away, (so I can live right now).
Take them away, (Lord, I want to live holy),
take them away, (Lord, I want to live right now).
(These sins that are blocking my blessings)
(that nobody knows but you and me),
oh, Lord, please remove these thorns.
Chorus 2:
If You take them away, (if You take them away I can walk in Your glory),
take them away, (I don't have power to tell Your story).
Take them away, (plain as the promise You gave to me),
take them away, (I'll go on and witness my victory).
If You take them away, (I'll do Your will both night and day),
take them away, (I'll give Your holy name all of the praise).
If You take them away, (I'll try Lord, but I can't do it by myself),
take them away, (that's why I'm pleading for Your help).
Oh, Lord, please remove these thorns,
oh, Lord, please remove these thorns,
oh, Lord, please remove these thorns.
Vamp:
Oh, Lord.
Ending:
Oh, Lord, please remove these thorns.
