The Letter 歌词

She had a ring of gold and a three-year-old And a house with a wooden fence The doctors tried and her family cried ‘Cause it didn’t make no sense But somewhere deep inside she knew God knew better So in the middle of the night Dim night light She started her letter It said Don’t give up right before the miracle Don’t let this world turn you cold and cynical Take these words write ‘em on your heart Let your light shine through the dark And when you think you’ve had enough Keep looking up keep looking up Well she got the note that her momma wrote On the day she turned eleven On the envelope she read the words To my little girl from heaven She couldn’t remember the smell of her skin Oh, but on that night it was like she was holding her again When she read Don’t give up right before the miracle Don’t let this world turn you cold and cynical Take these words write ‘em on your heart Let your light shine through the dark And when you think you’ve had enough Keep looking up keep looking up Find a man who will hold your hand and loves you for you And for heaven’s sake, you’ll make mistakes but whatever you do Don’t give up right before the miracle Don’t let this world turn you cold and cynical Take these words write ‘em on your heart Let your light shine through the dark And when you think you’ve had enough And you need me to pour down my love Keep looking up Keep looking up
