Original lyrics
ENTotay's the first day of honky tonk season
I'm gonna take in every honky tonk in town
I've got a license to drink for lots of reasons
And honky tonk season will be opened all year round
Although your clothes were never packed you left me a long time back
But kept on foolin' me by hangin' round
Up until your hungry eyes could find a better price
You found him last night and then you shot me down
Totay's the first day of honky tonk season...
[ steel - fiddle ]
Totay's the first day of honky tonk season...
And honky season will be opened all year round
